Whose doing the Poking?

Today, I wondered if a woman had ever been instrumental in starting a war.  I can't think of an incident.  Perhaps someone with more knowledge than me can.  It seems that once again America is allowing itself to be dragged into another "war".  Just an incursion they say, "limited" involvement really.  I cannot understand the mindset of people who feel that war is even an option.  America is in debt on every level.  You would think that by this time someone would wise up and say can we really afford to do this.  How many lives must we surrender to this process that really helps no one?  Doesn't the Bible say that we are to pursue peace, chase after it.  Yet it seems the only way we can understand what it means is to hire another big gun to go after people in a land far away.  America is definitely on a downhill slide.  I am beginning to feel that the terrorists have won.  They have managed to kill three thousand people on our own soil and I no longer know how many their actions have killed on foreign soil.  We must make a choice about how we want to live.  The scripture also tells us that those who live by the sword shall die by the sword.

I want to live by God's Word and die covered under the blood of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  I started out by asking the question, has a woman started a war?  I think it would be hard for one to do so, unless she was childless.  No mother of a son could willingly allow their child to go to war for any reason.  Yes, if their home were invaded perhaps, one should stand up and make a show of strength but even then is there anything that we can hold in our hands except our children that is worth fighting for?  I for one, am war weary.  I scarcely, listen to the info media anymore they have nothing worth saying and what they do say reflects those that own their mouths.  We cannot get real news.  It has gone by the wayside.  All we hear today is someone's opinion.  Just as you are getting my opinion in this little blog.

I can tell you whose side I am on.  I am and will always be on God's side.  He is who I look too for help and direction.  His Word is the final say in my life.  My Dad used to say "God has me in His pocket."  Today, I am with Dad.  I want to stay close to His heart and try my best to follow His lead.  We need to really pray that we do not make another mistake as a nation.  America may be waving goodbye to its status in the world.  We have become the world police department or more appropriately the world war department.  I wish we could drop that title.  But it is like changing jobs, if you have always been in sales; sales is where you will most likely stay.

Years ago, when I was maybe five years old, my older brother was playing with a long bamboo pole.  He had it in a Juniper tree.  I could not see very well and I always hung around my big brother.  I walked up very close to the tree to see what he was poking at.  About that time he knocked down a nest of yellow jackets that was probably the size of a honey dew melon.  Hundreds of yellow jackets began attacking me.  I was stung everywhere.  My big brother wasn't stung at all.  He ran in and told Mom what was happening.  She took me to the emergency room because of all the stings.  I learned one thing don't get between someone poking something and the thing being poked.  The outcome can really sting and that my friend is the Real Truth!
