If You Go God, then I Am With You.

I am weary in my body today.  This earth suit I wear around that keeps me on this planet is groaning for rest.  I know that there is still much to do.  It is so hard to not get upset about the "small stuff".  The enemy of our eternal soul would have the pot stirred until that is all that we see.  A committee at the church I attend drafted a set of very innocuous but biblically sound beliefs so that individuals who want to come to the church would know where we are coming from.  It seems that one of our members was greatly offended by this.  I find it hard to believe that someone could come to church week after week, sing the praises of God and yet not even believe in Him or in the Word that He has given us.  If we don't stand for something, we will fall for anything.

I fear that many people sitting on our pews today are doing just that, sitting.  They come for whatever reason, out of duty, maybe to meet friends or family or to have some social outlet.  Church is not about that.  It is a place to lift up the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ so that others will be drawn unto Him and teach what the Bible says.  There is no other reason for the church to exist in its current state if we are not doing that.  The fact that someone would even attend church, put money into its coffers and faithfully contribute in other ways tells me that there is something missing.

I believe I know what it is.  We need an old fashioned revival of repentance.  For so many years the church has watered down its doctrine to the point that there is no doctrine.  If people inquire as to what we believe we do not know what to tell them.  It is time that we throw ourselves on the altar of God's mercy and plead for His forgiveness for our neglect, our indifference, our selfishness and our complete lack of concern for the world at large.  We cannot fix the problems of the world by programs.  They are nice and show a good gesture but they will not solve the real problem which in a word is "sin".  I know that few people say that today, although I talk about it in my Sunday School Class as the Lord directs.  Sin has a grip on our world and even on the church.  I agree with Bro. T. D. Jakes when he said, "Christ suffered too much for me to think that He wanted me to have wealth."  Jesus did not die so that I could have a bigger car, or house or anything of the sort.  He died for the sins of the world.  As a body of believers we must pray as Daniel did in Daniel 9, ?forgive us all oh Lord for our great sin.?  Daniel a godly and faithful man took on the sins of his nation and accepted responsibility for what was done.  We too, must accept our part in the fiasco that has become our godless, selfish country.  It is time that we throw ourselves on the altar of repentance and cry out for God's grace and mercy.  Without it, I see a dire future for America.  It will be dark and it will be desolate to live in a place without God.  It is a place I have no intention of being.  If God's not there, I have no intention of going.
