You Are Never Alone
I am so thankful today for an opportunity to once again talk about the greatness of my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ! How blessed I am to have met Him so early in my life! I was only five years old when Jesus swept away the sin in my heart and took up residence there. I have never once considered evicting Him. In fact, long ago I made Him my Lord and He is the one who has the say over what I think and do! What a privilege to be able to turn over all of my concerns to one who loves and cares for me as He does.
Life is not always easy. There are many obstacles that arise before us attempting to impede our way or to just delay what God has in store for us. We must press on no matter what happens and allow the Lord to do His work in our lives. What we may see as a looming obstruction, God sees as a stepping stone to something better for us. It is hard during those times to just keep walking but we must if we hope to get where God wants us to be. When I first became a Christian nearly sixty years ago, there was a song that I can still hear in my heart today. It went "You've got to keep walking, keep right on a walking, keep walking in the light of the Lord. You'll get to Heaven someday if you walk the right way so keep walking in the light of the Lord. I searched and I searched for the road that leads to Heaven and I thought that I'd never find the way. The road was so dark and I was so weary til I heard a voice within me say, You've got to keep walking."
When we start this Christian life, there will be many hard and difficult places. There will be times when you wonder if it will be worth it. There will be times when you look about you and there will be no one there that you can see who cares about you but always know this you have to keep walking. You are never alone when God walks with you. He will hold you up no matter what is happening in your life. It is difficult to see broken people struggling to pick them up and see them seem to get better only to have them fall back into brokenness again. Jesus has promised us in His word that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He has sent us that assurance by the blessed Holy Spirit, the one who stands alongside to lift us up in the hard places of life. I can hear the sound of my little brother way back when as he stood on the stage in Mexia, TX and sang the last part of "You'll never walk alone." We will never walk alone. Do not let fear overtake you or a sense of being alone trouble you for when you belong to God, you are never alone!
