Invisible

Sometimes if we are overly sensitive to the opinions or actions of others, we can begin to think that we are really of little value.  This is one of the biggest tricks of the enemy of our soul to make us feel useless  and of no consequence.  Our senses need to discern this trick and recognize it for what it is.

Firstly, our own sense of self-importance has to be put under the blood of Christ as we recognize our relationship with Him and what He thinks about us is the most important thing in our lives.  How sad it would be to feel that you are invisible to those around you!  I remember when my mother became older she would get her feelings hurt because my two sisters and I would gather around the table at a family gathering and chatter away.  The sisters and I seldom saw one another and found the opportunity to share our time together as a chance to catch up.  We did not really realize how Mom felt but she was always welcome yet she chose to sit on the outside and be invisible.  I don't know what isolated her or caused her to not seek out our company.  I don't know if she was moving away from us realizing that she would not be in our lives much longer like a teenager who begins to exercise their sense of independence in forms of rebellion, closing out family, and refusing to talk unless they want or need something. It was a very strange action on her part and I still do not fully understand it.

Secondly, we must understand that today even our family is often selfish and self absorbed.  We often must make the effort to engage in activity with them since it is much easier for them to continue to be absorbed in the daily busyness of life.  Upon retirement, I actually thought that I would have so much time.  Time however has not only sprouted wings but it operates in the realm of rocket propulsion moving so quickly that before I have time to blink a whole day has gone by.  We must redeem the time and take advantage of all of it that we have.  Our world is on a collision course with eternity and we must work while the day is here for the night comes when no man can work.  Take time for what is important and don't fret over being in your opinion "overlooked or invisible".  What matters is what you are trying to do for the Kingdom of God.  Let us labor on.

And finally, realize that you are important in the eyes of God rather man ever notices or not.  The thing that really matters is that God loves you and is concerned about every part of your life.  Do not fret over these things that are so troubling.  They are only temporary.  They will pass away and a new day will come.  Learn to trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding.  In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.  He has a plan for each of us.  He never apologized for the use of His time.  We should live in such a way that we don't feel the need to do so either.  If we are truly committed to Him, then He is having His way in our lives and our steps are ordered by Him and that my friend is the Real Truth!
